The Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Rosary, located in Cova da Iria, comprises nowadays not only several buildings but also a large outdoor precinct with a total area of 86.400 m2 and a capacity for up to 300.000 people. The centre of activity, besides the Chapel of Apparitions, is also the Basilica and the Church of the Holy Trinity, a prayer site but a work of contemporary architecture as well. It displays a remarkable number of works of art, among which the main entrance and the Mysteries of the Rosary by Pedro Calapez, the artist that created the “Journey” and "Garden of Heaven", an homage to the pilgrims to Fátima, that is on display in the lobby of the Hotel Santa Maria.

Still in the Sanctuary area, one should visit the holm oak tree, the Monument to the Sacred Heart that stands in the centre of the square, the Lausperene Chapel, the monument that contains a segment of the Berlin’s Wall, the Paul VI Pastoral Centre and the museum of the Sanctuary.

2km from the Sanctuary precinct in Fátima you can also visit the Parish Church. Also worth visiting are the shepherds’ house and the Ethnography Museum in Aljustrel. In Valinhos the Monument to Our Lady, the Place of the Angel, the Stations of the Cross and the Calvary. On the north side of the Sanctuary precinct, visit the Wax Museum of Fátima and the Apparitions Museum 1917, an on the south side the Fátima Museum of Sacred Art and Ethnology as well as the Life of Christ Museum.
